Ewg’s skin deep site (cosmetics data base) is a good place to start. It can give a person an idea about the toxins, carcinogens, and potentially harmful ingredients they are being exposed to on a daily basis. It would be great if we as consumers were better protected under the FDA regulatory system. But we are not. And until we really are, we must be our own advocates and seek out safer products. Buying power is in in the consumers hands. We have choices, we just have to be diligent and we have to take the time to read actual ingredient labels, just as we are being conditioned to do on our processed food items.
